Gosh! – My Review

I was kindly sent a box of goodies a few weeks ago from the lovely people at Gosh! as they said they liked the look of my Instagram feed and would love to hear my thoughts on their products.
I had already bought their mushroom, puy lentil and butter bean burgers in the past and loved them, so I knew I was going to be in for a real treat. I therefore jumped at the chance of trying and reviewing them and I can honestly say it’s been a pleasure cooking up their bakes, bites and burgers for lunches and dinners over the last couple of weeks!

I’ll start my review by saying that all of the Gosh! products are vegan and free from all the most common food allergens. They are all gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, soya free, egg free, nut free, lupin free, celery free, mustard free, sesame seed free and free of nasty sulphites! As Gosh! say themselves, they do things “the minimal way, with nothing added and nothing taken away, just oodles of colour, flavour and texture.” A statement I can whole heartedly say they have delivered on in every one of their products I tasted.

My absolute favourite has to be the Sweetcorn & Quinoa Bites with a hint of Harissa & Paprika. These had a lovely texture to them and because they were bite sized balls, went perfectly with courgetti for a quick and easy meat free mid-week meal. I just baked them in the oven for 15 minutes, and served them over some spiralized courgette mixed with avocado and lemon juice. I had a lot of comments on this Instagram post so my fellow instagrammers definitely agree with me that these are No.1!

Surprisingly my second favourite was the Mixed Seed, Quinoa, Carrot & Corriander Bakes with a Minted Pea Centre. I say surprisingly because I just liked the sound of some of the others more! But when I tasted these, I was blown away. They have a great texture and the minted pea centre really packed a punch and livened up my taste buds. I served these with a simple salad and some potato wedges and can’t wait to eat them again.

Next on the list is the Chickpea, Courgette & Moroccan Spiced Bakes that are topped with Harissa Peppers. I am a big fan of harissa, and it really came through in these bakes. I was lucky enough to receive two packs of these in the goody box I was sent, so I cooked up all 4 for a lunch with friends and there was a lot of oohing and ahhing when I brought these to the table. I served them with a simple side of rocket salad and vegetable skewers and we all loved them. It was so nice to have something that catered for my gluten free needs, as well as my vegetarian and vegan friends!

The Beetroot, Kale & Quinoa Burgers were also amazing! I believe these are the newest addition to the Gosh! range and haven’t seen them in the shops before. I cooked them from frozen for 40 minutes, and served them in some gluten free buns with some homemade potato wedges on the side and they went down really well. Such a lovely vibrant colour and whilst you could taste the beetroot, you’d be forgiven in thinking they were actual burgers. The hint of mint is just that, it’s certainly not overpowering.

And last but not least, the Mushroom, Puy Lentil & Butter Bean Burgers. As I said before, I’ve bought these previously and loved them anyway, so no surprises here! They’re made with a mixture of Shitake and Chestnut Mushrooms and have a slight garlicky kick. I served mine on gluten free burger buns with some homemade tomato relish. Yum!

So, would I recommend them? Absolutely! Would I buy them again? Yes I will! They are all unique and lovely in their own way! I hope you found this review helpful, and if you’ve tried these or are going to try them now you’ve read this, please let me know what your favourite is!
